The 2012 Hall of Fame award will be presented at the General Meeting and we will recognize the Business Heritage Tributes of 2012.

Business Heritage Tributes 2012

We will recognize the achievements and contributions to the construction industry of member companies who have been in business for 25 years or more with the Staebler Insurance Business Heritage Tributes at our 2012 Annual General Meeting event.

Hall of Fame Award 2012

The Grand Valley Construction Association is pleased to introduce the GVCA Hall of Fame Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the betterment of the Construction Industry, and to the Community through their commitment to serve.

Mr. Construction

Jack Ball is synonymous with the ICI construction world in Ontario. Jack got his start in construction in the mid 1940's, working first in the field and then the office for Ball Brothers Limited, a family business started by his father and uncle in 1923. In 1967, Jack became president of Ball Brothers Ltd, running it successfully along with his brothers, Jim and Thom for over three decades. (The third generation took over in 1997 as Ball Construction Inc.) In 1965, Jack established Advance Construction Equipment Limited, to complement the family's growing construction business which continues to thrive today.

As a business leader, Jack has contributed to many professional associations including: the Builders Exchange, of which he is a past-president (1960-61); the Economic Development Council of Ontario (EDCO); serving on the Board of Directors for many years for the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA); an active member of the Canadian Construction Association (CCA); the Waterloo Township Planning Board; and the KW Construction Association, of which he is a past Chairman (1973-74).

Jack is also a committed philanthropist, supporting our community with his time, effort and financial resources.

Come celebrate Jack's induction to the 2012 GVCA Hall of Fame. It's a night of family, friends and colleagues.

This evening also features the Annual General Meeting
and the Business Heritage Tributes.
