Construction Health and Safety Co-ordinator

 

Job Description

 

Health and Safety Co-ordinators work on the construction job site and are responsible for assisting management (and other company personnel) in the administration, development, implementation and monitoring of the safety, health and environment (HSE) program. Safety coordinators identify and review a variety of safety, health and environment issues specific to the jobsite and keep management current on the status of any issue(s) that may impact on the work being performed.

 

Education Requirements

 

  • Grade 12 completion
  • A post-secondary diploma in courses such as health and safety
  • Post-graduate courses aimed at health and occupational hygiene
  • Construction related programs
  • First aid training  or health care-related training can also be an asset
  • This is a Gold Seal Certified occupation by the Canadian Construction Association
