The Women in Construction (WinC) Committee is driving real change across Ontario’s ICI construction sector. Focused on mentorship, education, and connection, WinC supports and advances women at every stage of their careers, breaking barriers and building a stronger, more inclusive industry.

Led by passionate volunteers from GVCA member companies, the committee delivers impactful programs and events that empower women and strengthen our construction community.

The Role of Committee Volunteers

The Women in Construction (WinC) Committee plays an active role in shaping meaningful opportunities that support and elevate women across the industry.

Committee volunteers contribute to:

Planning and delivering key events and initiatives, including Deconstructed sessions, networking opportunities, and flagship events such as HERizon
Creating spaces for connection and mentorship, helping women build relationships and navigate careers in construction
Supporting career development and leadership growth through relevant programming and shared industry insight
Championing equity, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring diverse voices are represented and supported across the industry
Providing perspective and input to help inform GVCA initiatives and strengthen inclusive workplace practices

Through their involvement, the committee helps position GVCA as a strong advocate for women in construction by supporting the attraction, development, and retention of talent while building a more connected and inclusive industry.
