Discover the Habitat for Humanity ReStore All Over Again

For more than 30 years, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore has been a trusted destination for Waterloo Region residents. Whether renovating a kitchen, furnishing a new rental unit, or searching for the perfect door, window, or light fixture to complete a DIY project, shoppers have long known they could find quality products while helping to keep usable materials out of the landfill.

Today, the ReStore offers even more reasons to visit.

Walk through the doors of either the Waterloo or Cambridge ReStore and you'll find an ever-changing selection that extends well beyond traditional building materials. From home décor and furniture to lighting, fixtures, cabinetry and unique design pieces, the inventory has evolved into a source of inspiration as much as a place to find a bargain. Many customers now visit to see what's new, often leaving with the idea for their next project.

That transformation has been made possible through growing partnerships with local retailers, manufacturers, builders, distributors and institutions. Together, these businesses are giving quality products a second life while supporting Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region's mission of building homes, communities and hope.

For businesses, donating surplus inventory is more than a sustainable choice. Products that may no longer fit current specifications, customer returns, discontinued inventory or items left over from construction projects can all find a new purpose at the ReStore. Cabinets, vanities, appliances, plumbing fixtures, lighting, flooring, furniture and countless other products help stock the shelves, creating affordable options for shoppers while diverting valuable materials from local landfills.

The ReStore team makes the process simple. Approved donations can be picked up directly from warehouses, businesses or job sites at no cost, helping free up valuable storage space while providing tax or business receipts where applicable.

If your business regularly has surplus inventory or quality products looking for a second life, Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region would welcome the opportunity to explore whether the ReStore is the right fit.

Tom Bileski, Community Outreach & Procurement, works directly with businesses to assess potential donations, arrange site visits and coordinate pickups. He can be reached at tbileski@habitatwr.ca or 519-591-3211.

As these partnerships continue to grow, so too does the impact they create. In the months ahead, we'll be sharing stories of local businesses whose donations are helping support affordable homeownership, strengthen our community and prove that one company's surplus can become someone else's opportunity.
